(Suleyman Demirel University, 2016) Uysal S.; Uysal L.
Kendine has bir dili mevcuttur. Bizler de bu deryadan yararlanma, bu okyanustan bir parça almayı hedefledik. Dil öğretiminde matematik terimlerinin ne kadar önem arz ettiğini ön plana çıkarmaya çalıştık. Okuyacağınız bu makalemiz de hedef Türkçe Öğretiminde Matematik Terimlerinin Öğretilmesi olduğundan çeşitli makale ve kitaplardan bu konu hakkında alıntılar yapılmıştır.

VOICE ASSISTANT FOR MOBILE SYSTEMS WITH NATURAL LANGUAGE PROCESSING
(Suleyman Demirel University, 2016) Kuanyshbay D.; Orynbetov Z.; Kariboz D.
In order to handle some tasks by voice recognition it is really important that application will understand what user said. Which means that application must take a sentence that was entered by user and analyze and handle some tasks or etc. This paper is about natural language processing and analyzing sentences. In this article, we have briefly gone through the problems of NLP and some of the common techniques used in natural language analysis. These techniques are, however, very simple and fundamental. Many more complex and efficient approaches have been developed. However, in spite of these new developments, current state of the art is still capable of only limited tasks within restricted domains. Even though, work in the subject had began more than forty years ago, it is still in the very early stage of its development and there is definitely more to meet the eyes.

(International Journal of Religion, 2024) Shakhrizat Agaidarova; Nazarali Aitjanov; Marat Uazhbek; Azatzhan Baitekov; Samat Maxutov
Kazakhstan is a country that has lofty aspirations for educational reforms. Though not formally and officially, CLIL as a primary action plan of the trilingual education is one of such ambitious initiatives. This report includes a systematic review of relevant and current literature on the implementation of the CLIL in the context of Kazakhstan. It solely looks at the state of CLIL research in Kazakhstan in order to identify gaps and make recommendations for future studies. A total of 20 studies were identified and selected for further analysis. The criteria for selection were derived from earlier research and include the following categories: relevant methodology, studies within the Kazakhstani setting exclusively, publications in three languages Kazakh, Russian and English, and peer-reviewed and conference publications. The coding scheme for the data analysis was also influenced by previous research, as mentioned clearly in the paper's methodology section. The review's findings indicate a tendency towards examining teachers' perceptions of CLIL using a qualitative approach and interviews as the primary data collection instrument. As a result of this systematic review, the paper suggests further research areas on the CLIL approach in underrepresented Kazakhstani context.

EVALUATING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF A PEER TUTORING PROGRAM FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE SUPPORT
(SDU Bulletin: Pedagogy and Teaching Methods, 2025) Alfira Makhmutova; Leslie Haas
This study investigates the impact of a peer tutoring initiative at a university in Uzbekistan designed to help students struggling with English proficiency in an English-Medium Instruction (EMI) environment. Although the institution requires a minimum IELTS score of 5.5 for admission, faculty observed that many students still encountered difficulties, especially in speaking and writing. To address these challenges, a pilot peer tutoring program was introduced, offering structured language support through volunteer student tutors. The research employed a mixed methods design, utilising pre- and post-program surveys, tutor session reports, and faculty feedback. Results demonstrated marked improvements in students’ confidence and English skills, with speaking emerging as the central area of concern for 75% of participants. After the program, 83.3% of students reported greater confidence in using English, and tutors observed high participation rates, with 76.9% of tutees actively engaged in sessions. Despite this, tutor recruitment and retention, inconsistent attendance, and gaps in institutional support posed challenges to program sustainability. The findings attest to the effectiveness of peer tutoring as a means of supporting languages in EMI environments but emphasise the importance of formal tutor training, designated tutorial spaces, and incentives in an attempt to enhance long-term outcomes. More research is recommended to measure the effect of the program on grades as well as long-term language acquisitio

SHAPING FUTURE SCIENTISTS: THE ROLE OF IZHO IN INFLUENCING STEM INTERESTS AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT AMONG HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS
(SDU Bulletin: Pedagogy and Teaching Methods, 2025) Akniyet Issain; Nazarali Aitjanov; Halit Yilmaz; Azatzhan Baitekov; Samat Maxutov
This study examines the impact of participation in the International Zhautykov Olympiad (IZhO) on high school students' perceptions of 21st-century skill development and STEM career aspirations. Using a mixed-methods approach, the research investigates gender differences, variations across STEM specializations, age-related trends, school-type influences, and the effect of repeated participation. The findings revealed significant gender differences, with female students reporting greater improvements in Presentation, Scientific Thinking, and Collaboration skills compared to males. No significant differences were observed across STEM specializations, suggesting that IZhO contributes similarly to skill development across Mathematics, Physics, and Informatics students. Age analysis indicated that younger students (13–14 years old) perceived greater skill enhancement than older groups, particularly in General Skills, Presentation, and Problem Solving. Vocational school students reported the highest perceived benefits in Technology skills compared to public and private school counterparts. Additionally, a moderate frequency of Olympiad participation (10–20 times) was associated with the greatest improvement in Critical Thinking skills. These findings highlight the potential of Olympiad participation to foster essential skills and inspire STEM career aspirations. They also suggest the need for tailored interventions to address age- and gender-specific needs, maximize benefits for all school types, and explore strategies to sustain students' engagement over repeated participation. The study underscores the value of STEM competitions in preparing students for future academic and career success.

    STEMMING OF KAZAKH LANGUAGE
    (Абай атындағы ҚазҰПУ-нің ХАБАРШЫСЫ, «Физика-математика ғылымдары» сериясы, №1(73), 2021) Bogdanchikov A.; Baimuratov O.A.; Ayazbayev D.A.
Nowadays natural language processing is widely used. For instance, it can be used to translate text, in search engines systems, text topic identification. Such applications require preprocessing of text. It should be done, because preprocessing of text can influence on system accuracy. Text preprocessing can be done by several ways. One approach is identifying root of word. Advantage of identifying root of word is that it can save memory of computer, because repeated roots will be saved one time. This paper describes stemming systems, which can identify root of word. In literature review part authors reviewed to stemming algorithms, which can identify roots of words of Russian, Uzbek, Turkish languages. Then authors proposed stemming system, which can identify root of word of Kazakh language. In current paper authors describe how their system works. To test the system words from various parts of speech were entered. Proposed system can identify roots of noun, verb, adjective, numeral words. The system response can be seen in table 1. Pictures below show what kinds of suffixes, endings can be concatenated with root of word of Kazakh language. However not all combinations are shown in pictures. In conclusion part advices for how to develop stemming system are written.

KAZAKH NAMES GENERATOR USING DEEP LEARNING
    (ВЕСТНИК КАЗАХСТАНСКО-БРИТАНСКОГО ТЕХНИЧЕСКОГО УНИВЕРСИТЕТА, №4, 2020) Nurmambetov D.; Dauylov S.; Bogdanchikov A.
In recent years, sentiment analysis of e-mail messages or social media posts is becoming very popular. It can help people define if they are reading something positive or negative. On the same time, there are some services on the Internet that can help you find or create a new name. When processing the creation, they check the name in other popular languages, so your name does not mean inappropriate things in other languages. For this they bill for 25 thousand US dollars. If there are such services, then there is a demand. In this study, sentiment analysis of e-mails was implemented with using StanfordNLP [1] lemmatizer and classic machine learning algorithms as a classifier. It is applied to real e-mails from Russian speaking mailbox, which means there are both English and Russian messages. Thus, language identification is also added as preprocessing step. In this study only binary sentiment analysis was made, but it can be improved with adding several emotions to be detected. Then another model generates Kazakh names using neural networks, where all Kazakh names data has been collected through various websites. The sentiment analysis model gives 81% accuracy and the joint use of two models allow us to generate new Kazakh names, which are checked with Russian language if they mean something inappropriate. The result can be improved with checking with other languages.

Determination of Problems in the Basic Language Skills of University Students learning Turkish in Kazakhstan
(Faculty of Education and Humanities, 2011) Özdemir C.; Özdemir E.D.; Ugur Ch.; Uysal S.
This study investigated the relationship between student characteristics (gender, major), and the problems they face when learning Turkish language skills at university level in Kazakhstan. Participants included 120 Kazakh students from three faculties (Law, Philology, and Engineering). They completed a 28 item Likert-type questionnaire which also included two open ended items. MANOVA results indicated that gender and the problems students face were not significantly related while there was a significant relation between major and the problems they face. The only statistically significant relation was found for writing skill. The Chisquare analysis results indicated no relation between both gender and major, and the most difficulty skill to learn. The possible reasons behind the results and suggestions for further research are discussed.

Defining Semantically Close Words of Kazakh Language with Distributed System Apache Spark
    (MDPI, 2023) Ayazbayev D.; Bogdanchikov A.; Orynbekova K.; Varlamis I.
This work focuses on determining semantically close words and using semantic similarity in general in order to improve performance in information retrieval tasks. The semantic similarity of words is an important task with many applications from information retrieval to spell checking or even document clustering and classification. Although, in languages with rich linguistic resources, the methods and tools for this task are well established, some languages do not have such tools. The first step in our experiment is to represent the words in a collection in a vector form and then define the semantic similarity of the terms using a vector similarity method. In order to tame the complexity of the task, which relies on the number of word (and, consequently, of the vector) pairs that have to be combined in order to define the semantically closest word pairs, A distributed method that runs on Apache Spark is designed to reduce the calculation time by running comparison tasks in parallel. Three alternative implementations are proposed and tested using a list of target words and seeking the most semantically similar words from a lexicon for each one of them. In a second step, we employ pre-trained multilingual sentence transformers to capture the content semantics at a sentence level and a vector-based semantic index to accelerate the searches. The code is written in MapReduce, and the experiments and results show that the proposed methods can provide an interesting solution for finding similar words or texts in the Kazakh language.

INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO SOCIAL MEDIA IN EDUCATION
    (Faculty of Education & Humanities, 2013) Aitchanov B.H.; Satabaldiyev A.B.; Bogdanchikov A.V.; Latuta K.N.
The current paper reviews the usage of social resource such as VKontakte and microlearning technique for educational purposes. The problem is that students in Kazakhstan spend a lot of time in social networks, therefore, the lack of motivation drives to critical results on their academic performance. In order to solve this problem, the research was applied on CSS 216 Mobile Programming (Android) course at Suleyman Demirel University (Kazakh-stan). The collected results show that in a modern world of emerging mobile technologies, we are as educators should improve the way of teaching by adding electronically supported learning methods. In this study, the significance of microlearning technique is proposed.
