Item Open Access STEMMING OF KAZAKH LANGUAGE(Абай атындағы ҚазҰПУ-нің ХАБАРШЫСЫ, «Физика-математика ғылымдары» сериясы, №1(73), 2021) Bogdanchikov A.; Baimuratov O.A.; Ayazbayev D.A.Nowadays natural language processing is widely used. For instance, it can be used to translate text, in search engines systems, text topic identification. Such applications require preprocessing of text. It should be done, because preprocessing of text can influence on system accuracy. Text preprocessing can be done by several ways. One approach is identifying root of word. Advantage of identifying root of word is that it can save memory of computer, because repeated roots will be saved one time. This paper describes stemming systems, which can identify root of word. In literature review part authors reviewed to stemming algorithms, which can identify roots of words of Russian, Uzbek, Turkish languages. Then authors proposed stemming system, which can identify root of word of Kazakh language. In current paper authors describe how their system works. To test the system words from various parts of speech were entered. Proposed system can identify roots of noun, verb, adjective, numeral words. The system response can be seen in table 1. Pictures below show what kinds of suffixes, endings can be concatenated with root of word of Kazakh language. However not all combinations are shown in pictures. In conclusion part advices for how to develop stemming system are written.Item Open Access KAZAKH NAMES GENERATOR USING DEEP LEARNING(ВЕСТНИК КАЗАХСТАНСКО-БРИТАНСКОГО ТЕХНИЧЕСКОГО УНИВЕРСИТЕТА, №4, 2020) Nurmambetov D.; Dauylov S.; Bogdanchikov A.In recent years, sentiment analysis of e-mail messages or social media posts is becoming very popular. It can help people define if they are reading something positive or negative. On the same time, there are some services on the Internet that can help you find or create a new name. When processing the creation, they check the name in other popular languages, so your name does not mean inappropriate things in other languages. For this they bill for 25 thousand US dollars. If there are such services, then there is a demand. In this study, sentiment analysis of e-mails was implemented with using StanfordNLP [1] lemmatizer and classic machine learning algorithms as a classifier. It is applied to real e-mails from Russian speaking mailbox, which means there are both English and Russian messages. Thus, language identification is also added as preprocessing step. In this study only binary sentiment analysis was made, but it can be improved with adding several emotions to be detected. Then another model generates Kazakh names using neural networks, where all Kazakh names data has been collected through various websites. The sentiment analysis model gives 81% accuracy and the joint use of two models allow us to generate new Kazakh names, which are checked with Russian language if they mean something inappropriate. In this paper we stress the importance of input and process based approaches by examining the mediating role of research self-efficacy on the relationship between training & development practices and research productivity, and the moderating role of knowledge sharing climate. This empirical work provides a more complete understanding of how training & development practices may build research self-efficacy which in turn promotes faculty members’ research productivity. Finally, we contribute to the emerging literature on the moderating effects of knowledge sharing climate.Item Open Access Determination of Problems in the Basic Language Skills of University Students learning Turkish in Kazakhstan(Faculty of Education and Humanities, 2011) Özdemir C.; Özdemir E.D.; Ugur Ch.; Uysal S.This study investigated the relationship between student characteristics (gender, major), and the problems they face when learning Turkish language skills at university level in Kazakhstan. Participants included 120 Kazakh students from three faculties (Law, Philology, and Engineering). They completed a 28 item Likert-type questionnaire which also included two open ended items. MANOVA results indicated that gender and the problems students face were not significantly related while there was a significant relation between major and the problems they face. The only statistically significant relation was found for writing skill. The Chisquare analysis results indicated no relation between both gender and major, and the most difficulty skill to learn. The possible reasons behind the results and suggestions for further research are discussed.Item Open Access Defining Semantically Close Words of Kazakh Language with Distributed System Apache Spark(MDPI, 2023) Ayazbayev D.; Bogdanchikov A.; Orynbekova K.; Varlamis I.This work focuses on determining semantically close words and using semantic similarity in general in order to improve performance in information retrieval tasks. The semantic similarity of words is an important task with many applications from information retrieval to spell checking or even document clustering and classification. Although, in languages with rich linguistic resources, the methods and tools for this task are well established, some languages do not have such tools. The first step in our experiment is to represent the words in a collection in a vector form and then define the semantic similarity of the terms using a vector similarity method. In order to tame the complexity of the task, which relies on the number of word (and, consequently, of the vector) pairs that have to be combined in order to define the semantically closest word pairs, A distributed method that runs on Apache Spark is designed to reduce the calculation time by running comparison tasks in parallel. Three alternative implementations are proposed and tested using a list of target words and seeking the most semantically similar words from a lexicon for each one of them. In a second step, we employ pre-trained multilingual sentence transformers to capture the content semantics at a sentence level and a vector-based semantic index to accelerate the searches. The code is written in MapReduce, and the experiments and results show that the proposed methods can provide an interesting solution for finding similar words or texts in the Kazakh language.Item Open Access INNOVATIVE APPROACH TO SOCIAL MEDIA IN EDUCATION(Faculty of Education & Humanities, 2013) Aitchanov B.H.; Satabaldiyev A.B.; Bogdanchikov A.V.; Latuta K.N.The current paper reviews the usage of social resource such as VKontakte and microlearning technique for educational purposes. The problem is that students in Kazakhstan spend a lot of time in social networks, therefore, the lack of motivation drives to critical results on their academic performance. In order to solve this problem, the research was applied on CSS 216 Mobile Programming (Android) course at Suleyman Demirel University (Kazakh-stan). The collected results show that in a modern world of emerging mobile technologies, we are as educators should improve the way of teaching by adding electronically supported learning methods. The study found that all of these aspects of knowledge are important for effective chemistry teaching. This study focuses on assessing the impact of AI-driven teaching methods on student motivation and academic performance through qualitative interviews and quantitative surveys with biology teachers, and pre- and post-tests results of students from different schools of Almaty, Kazakhstan. The study found that while there was only a slight improvement in overall academic knowledge, student motivation 137 significantly increased as a result of the AI-enhanced learning experience. The incorporation of AI technologies stimulated student interest and enthusiasm for biology, fostering a deeper engagement with the subject matter and promoting active participation in learning activities. This review highlights the benefits and challenges of technology in chemistry education, emphasizing its potential to improve learning and readiness for a technology-driven world.Item Open Access CHALLENGES OF CHEMISTRY TEACHERS IN SCHOOLS(Faculty of Education & Humanities, 2024) Kiikov B.; Satilmis H.Y.; Abilbek Zh.This study explores the application of artificial intelligence (AI) in chemistry education through an extensive review of ten academic articles. AI's integration into chemistry education has led to the development of various educational tools, such as personalized learning platforms and virtual labs. These advancements have greatly contributed to enhancing student learning and teacher experiences. The primary activities facilitated by AI include creating and solving open-ended and multiple-choice questions, and answering questions and solving problems. However, the utilization of AI for laboratory work and making scientific predictions remains less common, suggesting these areas are more appealing to college and university students. Recommendations for future research include developing a comprehensive chemistry database to accurately answer complex questions, creating an all-inclusive AI chemistry application, and devising methods to calculate chemical problems using mathematical formulas. This would involve integrating these methods into AI to generate tasks with different formulas and calculations but identical final meanings. Implementing these suggestions could significantly improve students' chemistry skills and promote academic integrity. The study included 18 articles by different authors on different topics, but with one goal - STEM integration. The result showed that out of 18 articles, 16 partially contain the idea of integrating STEM methodology. In particular, 7 articles were designed to integrate STEM in high school. the rest were intended for teachers in general. None of the articles were intended for elementary school.Item Open Access EFFECTIVENESS OF HANDS-ON CHEMISTRY EXPERIMENTS IN HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION(Faculty of Education & Humanities, 2024) Aldenov R.; Abilbek Zh.; Satilmis H.Y.Practical laboratory work is essential to secondary school education, especially when it comes to chemistry and other related disciplines. This study assesses how well-developed skills, piqued scientific curiosity, and improved learning outcomes are all achieved through hands-on chemistry activities. In Kazakhstan, data was gathered from 75 students in the 10th and 11th grades of state general education schools through the use of a mixed-method technique that combined questionnaires and interviews. The majority of students confirmed that laboratory work helps with memorizing, improves enjoyment of chemistry, increases motivation, and improves general attitude towards the topic. The results show that these comments were overwhelmingly positive. Despite these advantages, problems including a lack of resources and equipment keep hindering thorough practical training. Ensuring fair access to high-quality education requires addressing these issues. This study highlights the importance of innovative teaching approaches and adequate resources to promote student engagement and success in science and technology.Item Open Access CHALLENGES OF CHEMISTRY TEACHERS IN SCHOOLS(Faculty of Education & Humanities, 2024) Zhibekaiym I.; Satilmis H.Y.The STEM education system is one of the most important areas in demand for the 21st century. El-Deghaidy, 2014) However, the full implementation of Stem education in the field of education is currently causing some difficulties for school teachers, school heads, and administration. In the study of this issue, since chemistry is one of the 4 subjects included in the integrative STEM education system, the main attention was paid to the works of scientists who study the problems encountered in STEM education in general. In the research work, more than 10 articles of 72 foreign scientists studying the general field of STEM education were reviewed and about 9 problems faced by chemistry teachers in STEM education were identified.
