Item Unknown Assessment of investments in technology and innovation(2023) Boranbay R.A.This dissertation aims to analyze and compare methods for assessing investments in technology and innovation, considering the challenges of a dynamic and uncertain business environment. By examining the impact of these investments on competitiveness and profit growth, the study provides insights to enhance decision-making accuracy and identifies factors influencing the choice of investment assessment methods. Through -qualitative and quantitative research methods, including interviews with CFOs of Kazakhstani companies, the study investigates the use of real options and traditional methods, highlighting the barriers and proposing strategies for increasing adoption. The findings contribute to the field by endorsing financial techniques tailored to the unique characteristics of technology and innovation investments, promoting informed resource allocation and_ better management of risks in a changing market.Item Open Access Improvement of project management processes to ease strategy execution in metallurgical company(2023) Abilakim A.This thesis project aims to improve project management processes to facilitate strategy implementation in the case of a metallurgical company , a technology company based in Kazakhstan. The goal of the project is to identify weaknesses in existing project management processes and propose improvements to create a more structured and effective management approach. The project includes an analysis of current project management processes, as well as a survey among the company's employees. Based on the findings, the proposed improvements include the introduction of a more robust management system for efficiency and goal achievement.The thesis was implemented over several months and it was found to have beneficial effects on the organization from the project increasing the efficiency of the project and providing greater transparency and control over project activities.Overall, this thesis demonstrates the importance of effective project management in achieving organizational goals and highlights the benefits of investing in the skills and capabilities of project managers. The project provides valuable information about the process of improving project management processes to facilitate strategy implementation, which may be useful to other organizations seeking to expand their project management capabilities.Item Unknown Determinants of employee engagement and their effect on employee performance(2024) Abayeva A.This study investigates the impact of transformational leadership on employee engagement and performance in second-tier banks in East Kazakhstan. Guided by research questions on how transformational leadership affects employee engagement and performance, and the mediating role of engagement. Data from 36 valid observations were analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results show that transformational leadership significantly enhances employee engagement, and higher employee engagement improves performance. Unexpectedly, transformational leadership has a negative direct effect on performance. Employee engagement fully mediates the relationship between transformational leadership and performance. This study contributes to the literature by elucidating the complex relationships between leadership, engagement, and performance, and offers practical insights for improving leadership practices in banks. Future research should explore larger, more diverse samples and other contextual factor.Item Open Access Islamic investment products: features and development prospects(2023) Rakhymberdi A.Over the past few years, there has been considerable instability in the financial sector, which has had the capacity to negatively impact other areas of the economy, such as production and services. Economists have increasingly embraced the terms Islamic finance, Islamic banking, and Islamic economics. This dissertation research aims to provide both theoretical and practical guidance for the integration and advancement of Islamic investment products within the banking practices of Kazakhstan. The main objectives of this study are to examine the necessary conditions for the progress of the Islamic economic model, compare traditional and Islamic investment products, examine international practices in utilizing Islamic investment products, propose implementation strategies specific to Kazakhstan, and suggest approaches to enhance the legislative framework for incorporating Islamic banking principles. The research employs a range of commonly used scientific methods, including analysis, synthesis, classification, induction, deduction, and comparison. The research aims to identify crucial elements that could facilitate the effective adoption of Islamic banking and investment products. These factors encompass the potential for diversifying capital sources, the existence of demand for Islamic banking products driven by the national composition of the population, the necessity of reinforcing the investment focus of lending practices, and the opportunity to leverage practical experience to adapt traditional banking products in alignment with Islamic banking principles.Item Unknown The influence of social media in the economic development of SME.(2019) Nurzhanova A.At the present stage, the social reality in which a person resides is increasingly called the information or network society. In this case, social networks such as FaceBook, VKontakte, etc., are used as channels for delivering information from the company to the “minds of users”.Item Open Access The effect of HRM practices on role performance: The case of Suleyman Demirel University(2022) Baimuldanova T.T.The effect of human resource management (HRM) practices on employee performance have been found as one of the interesting topics in management starting from 1990. Human resource practices have a crucial role in enhancing the performance of employees, which enables firms to realize their objectives. Therefore, the firm should view human resource practices as a core strategy for achieving its objectives through the performance of its people. From year to year, researchers began to focus more on the impact of HRM practices on employee well-being. To explain how human resource management (HRM) contributes to business performance, employee well-being has been emphasized, as it is considered that HRM indirectly influences performance through employee well-being (e.g., Boxall and Macky, 2009; Guest, 2017). The given research paper is based on the quantitative research analysis that is aimed at assessment of the influence of HRM practices on employee role performance both through direct and indirect, with mediation effect of well-being. The HRM-driven model, more specifically the partial mediation model, is used in the paper. The variable “HRM practices” was measured by practices, such as training, promotion, information sharing, and the “well-being” through job satisfaction. Since Suleyman Demirel University was chosen as the main sample of the research analysis, only those practices that are used in the organization are taken into account. Initially, the questionnaire was sent to 312 people, who are working at SDU by using the convenient sampling method. However, responses were retrieved only from 109 people. Based on the results all hypotheses were accepted, and a significant relationship between HRM practices and role performance was determined. Moreover, the mediating role of job satisfaction between the HRM practices organized at SDU and its employees' role performance was confirmed. The results of the research paper helped to better understand how the current HRM practices of the organization affect the job satisfaction of the employees, which will in return influence their performance.Item Open Access Employee satisfaction and motivation in Almaty(2019) Kulzhan S.This thesis is about motivation and satisfaction of employee in workplace. Heads of industrial enterprises are forced to make managerial decisions in the context of reducing the life cycle of goods, reducing profitability of production, increasing speed of technology progress. In economic science and practice it is recognized that effective strategic management is an important factor determining the competitiveness of an enterprise and its ability to sustain development in unstable market conditions. Effective development and implementation of the strategy requires managers to respond flexibly and adequately to changes in external and internal business conditions. In a large number of cases, the management of enterprises is looking for sources of strategic flexibility in the area of financial activity, which, however, has an effect in the short term. At the same time, effective strategic development requires the adoption of agreed decisions in the area of basic, investment and financial activities, not only at the stage of strategy development, but also at the level of current management. These recommendations determine the main steps to introduce lean manufacturing technology in the management and organizational processes of industrial enterprises. Recommendations are developed on the basis of experience of practical application of lean manufacturing technology in pilot projects of the enterprise of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The aim of the pilot projects was to improve processes aimed at increasing worker satisfaction, increasing efficiency and eliminating existing temporary, financial and other losses, and arranging workplaces that ensure the safety and comfort of employees.
