Abstract
This article examines the process of selecting candidates for employment and its importance for company success. While companies can easily select natural resources and techniques, choosing the right personnel presents significant challenges for the Human Resource (HR) department. Effective selection ensures better performance, prevents mistakes, and provides competitive advantage. The HR manager must consider candidates’ education, experience, personality traits, and behavior in various situations. The article discusses key factors affecting the selection process, including legal considerations, decision-making speed, organizational hierarchy, applicant pool, and company type. It also outlines the steps in candidate selection, such as employment planning, vacancy announcement, resume screening, background checks, testing, interviews, medical examinations, and final job offers. The process may vary depending on company size, budget, and position requirements. Properly executed selection leads to increased efficiency, reduced risk, and overall organizational success.
