Item Open Access BENEFITS AND CHALLENGES OF PEER ASSESSMENT IN HIGHER EDUCATION: A COMPREHENSIVE LITERATURE REVIEW(SDU University, 2025) Amina Aisarova; Aizhan AmangazinaPeer assessment has been described as a collaborative method of assessment that promotes active and reflective learning. It is particularly useful in the higher educational context since university students are required to be involved in more autonomous and student-centered activities. Therefore, university instructors should consider alternative forms of assessment. However, peer assessment is often neglected by instructors, and students are not prepared to employ peer practices. The aim of the current literature review is to analyze the previous studies on peer assessment in higher education. Particularly, it will describe the reasons for using peer assessment, its forms, and the benefits and challenges of employing peer assessment in higher education. Therefore, the findings will raise the awareness of teachers and students regarding the advantages and limitations of peer assessment techniques. To achieve this goal, the review of 30 articles, which were related to the implementation of peer assessment in higher education is presented. Найдены необходимые и достаточные условия неразличимости множества реализаций неалгебраического 1-типа B счетно категоричных слабо циклически минимальных структурах. Данная статья направлена на рассмотрение понятия слабой циклической минимальности, введенного И первоначально глубоко исследованного, на вопросы неразличимости множества в слабо циклически минимальных структурах. В работе приводится в терминах слабой ортогональности выпуклых компонент неалгебраического 1- типа критерий неразличимости множества реализаций данного типа для счетно категоричных не 1-транзитивных слабо циклически минимальных структур, приводятся различные теоремы по данному вопросу и варианты их решения.Item Open Access Peer Assessment as a Collaborative Learning Tool in EFL Secondary Classes(SDU University, 2025) Aisarova A.Peer assessment is a collaborative learning tool which can be used to promote an active learning environment. It has been described as an effective, learner-centered, and democratic technique which can be practiced in various educational settings. The purpose of the current research was to describe EFL teachers’ and students’ attitudes towards peer assessment activities in secondary education. This study utilized a qualitative approach to obtain in-depth reflections and experiences of participants. Face-to-face interviews were employed as a data collection tool. Non-probability purposive sampling strategy was used to collect data from participants. Qualitative data was analyzed by inductive thematic analysis and included direct quotations of the respondents. The findings indicate positive attitudes towards peer assessment by both study groups and demonstrate the wide use of this technique in secondary education. As a result of the interviews, six main themes in each study group were revealed. The respondents reported such barriers of peer assessment as subjectivity in grading, lack of prior instruction and expertise, adverse relationships between peers, and student passiveness. Therefore, the participants suggested providing clear rubrics and explanation, moderate implementation of peer assessment in a classroom, and using formative peer feedback to eliminate potential bias.
