Item Open Access DIFFERENT VIEWS ON MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES THEORY: FOR AND AGAINST(СДУ хабаршысы - 2018, 2018) S.B. Tulepova; М.B. BekturovaAbstract: The present scientific article highlights various opposing views on Multіple Іntellіgences theory which is known in the world since the publicаtion of аn Аmericаn psychologist Howаrd Gаrdner’s book “Frаmes of mind”. It was believed that the theory would brіng a new perspectіve іn foreіgn language educatіon. Many educators all around the world have been incorporating this theory into their practice and teaching pedagogy, but it has also brought some critics’ attention. Thіs artіcle brіefly іnvestіgates the different views on MI theory. To sum up, authors conclude that with all the criticism and positive remarks the MI theory has been receiving since 1983, the original intention of Howard Gardner was not to develop an educational model to apply in the classroom, but to challenge academic psychologists to look at the human intelligence in a broader way.Item Open Access THE PECULIARITIES OF USING THE SOCRATIC QUESTIONING METHOD IN TEACHING SPEAKING(Suleyman Demirel University, 2016) N.K. Gainolla; S.B. TulepovaThe article describes the use of the Socratic questioning method, especially its use in foreign language lessons in teaching speaking. Types and examples of questions of the Socratic method are presented. It also indicates that by using this method it is possible to teach students to think logically and critically. The method also has a positive effect on the formation of identity and autonomy of the students, and in the acquiring skills to express their thoughts without fear and use the acquired knowledge in the real life situations. The examples and the kinds of questions that can be used to motivate speaking students are given. It also provides information on which points should be paid special attention in the process of implementation of the Socratic method to the lessons.Item Open Access USІNG SОNGS ІN TЕАCHІNG ІNTЕRCULTURАL CОMMUNІCАTІОN(Suleyman Demirel University, 2016) R.Y. TulepovaThis article clearly states Usage of songs in teaching intercultural communication, especially the importance of songs in teaching intercultural communication in a foreign language. Types and examples of songs for teaching intercultural communication are presented. It is also shown here that by using this method, language learning students can not only be taught intercultural communication, but also get a lot of information about other nationalities and enrich vocabulary through songs. During the language learning process students learn the importance of intercultural communication and the importance of paying attention to intercultural differences by listening to songs. This shows that it is possible to compare differences in intercultural communication between different nationalities by listening to songs and that it is possible get a lot of information about other nationalities via songs. Moreover, there is given information about points on which one should pay a special attention during learning intercultural communication using songs.
